Question by Planetmillion: Did people suffer from allergies in the old days?
There are so many people who suffer from allergies. Even some of our cats and dogs suffer! I also have several allergies (dust, pollen, and deodorant), and want to know what exactly causes allergies. Some point on heredity, but? I heard that very few people in the 50?s or 60?s (or earlier) suffered from allergies; and if they did, how would they survive? The medical industry was not developed yet.

Or am I wrong?

Allergies are a lot more prevalent now than even just a few decades ago among the developed world. People in developing countries don?t suffer allergies anywhere near as much as people in the developed world. There are many theories as to why that is ? some people think it?s because we protect our kids from exposure to bacteria and they end up with no resistance. I?m allergic to wheat myself ? it certainly is a pain!
